The Timoney T900™ independent suspension system is designed for a variety of vehicle types in defence, construction and utility vehicle applications, enabling best in class vehicle ride and handling.
The modular design provides building blocks for 4×4, 6×6 and 8×8 configurations. A complete driveline solution can be provided when combined with an OEM or Timoney transfer case and a Timoney steering system.
The T700 independent suspension system was jointly developed by Timoney and Texelis to address lighter axle weight ranges.
The T700 combines the best of Timoney’s independent suspension expertise with differentials and wheel ends from a proven range of Texelis axles.
Full driveline solutions can be provided when combined with a suitable transfer case and a Timoney steering system.
The 6 tonnes driveline includes axles, a dropbox and a steering system, primarily suitable for defence applications with Gross Axle Weight Ratings up to 6,500 kg.
The system includes an optional McPherson suspension type which can be used to maximize rear crew compartment space.
Timoney developed the world’s first independent suspension for Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) trucks in the 1970’s.
The Timoney 87150 is the latest generation ARFF independent suspension system, providing best in class vehicle ride and handling for 4×4, 6×6 and 8×8 configurations.
The 87150 system has also been used for military logistic truck and other specialty truck applications.
87150 is rated for axle capacities up to 12,250 kg as standard.
The patented Timoney ADT Independent Suspension axle system is the only fully independent suspension system available in the construction market.
During operation, construction machines are subjected to high and unpredictable loads and forces are transmitted into the machine which operators experience as “Whole Body Vibrations” (WBV).
The Timoney axle minimises these forces ‘at the source’ resulting in increased safety, better ride and operator comfort.
The Timoney STRIDER Independent Front Suspension (IFS) is designed primarily for applications in the fire and specialty truck sectors.
With over 250 mm (10”) wheel travel, STRIDER provides off-highway performance when required, keeping both wheels on the road when crossing bumps and potholes, improving driver control and driver and crew comfort.
Timoney’s expertise is not limited just to wheeled vehicles.
The Timoney-designed All-Terrain Tracked Carrier driveline has been in-service since 2001.
Designed to meet the specific requirements of this unique vehicle, the driveline has been proven to handle the most adverse of conditions.
Timoney transfer cases are designed to integrate with our own or third-party-driveline products.
Timoney can provide off-the shelf or bespoke solutions to best suit your vehicle requirements, including close coupled or direct mounted and single or two speed options are available.
If required, transfer cases can be supplied with additional features such as PTO’s, emergency steering pumps, and parking brakes. For amphibious requirements transfer case-to-hull sealing solutions can be provided.
Timoney Steering Systems are designed to withstand the high loads seen with off-road operation and the high wheel travel associated with independent suspension systems.
With geometry designed to minimise bump-steer, systems are engineered to provide optimum performance with minimum tyre wear.
All Wheel Steering (AWS) is also available for enhanced manoeuvrability.
